Prisca Ndhlovu brings a wealth of experience, skills and strengths to this training academy. She is the founder and owner of Prisca Nails and Beauty Academy and has a long track record in the beauty industry.

After completing her hospitality studies, Prisca went on to study Beauty Therapy and hairdressing and obtained an advanced diploma. Prisca has over 16 year’s experience in the beauty industry, having worked in a number of resorts in the magnificent Victoria Falls area in Zimbabwe, including the Victoria Falls Hotel Spa, the Kingdom Hotel and the Elephant Hills Spa, before relocating to South Africa.
Once in Johannesburg, Prisca worked at a Day Spa for 6 months, then in a beauty salon for over two years, before starting her own salon. Prisca bootstrapped her own business; she started from very humble beginnings, initially renting out a single chair at a salon, followed quickly by an additional chair and finally grew her business into a fully fledged salon. The business had its own set of challenges, from having therapists and beauticians poached by larger companies in the industry – in many ways a compliment! This did not discourage Prisca’s drive and ambition. She overcome these setbacks and grew her business from strength to strength.
This is when the passion for growing young therapists, transferring knowlede and providing appropriate skills development was ignited.
Prisca’s first salon was opened in Alexandria Township, one of the old townships in South Africa. Prisca’s desire was (and remains) to help reduce unemployment in the community, where the salon was operating. Prisca Hair and Beauty trained and employed several young ladies and men. Through this intervention, Prisca provided her staff with the required Hair Dressing and Nail technology skills, empowering her staff whilst helping to fight unemployment within the Township.
Prisca Hair and Beauty Salon, a unisex salon, was situated in Wynberg / Alexandra as well as Sandton. Additionally a mobile spa was introduced to pamper clients who were unable to come to the spa itself.
This experience and passion resulted in Prisca launching Prisca Beauty Academy, which offered accredited training programmes for beauty therapists and nail technicians. You can read more about the academy here.
